Jeff Sessions (R-AL), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest, sent a letter today to the Appropriations Committee with proposed language for cancelling the blank check for refugee resettlement in the upcoming government funding bill. The current funding proposal would not only authorize the President's plan to bring in 85,000 refugees on top of the current, historical annual immigration flow, but would allow for an unlimited amount of money to be spent on lifetime welfare and benefits for refugees - without a penny of offsets.
